Solidarity with political prisoners in Nicaragua

I personally know three of the many political prisoners in Nicaragua, and as many Nicaraguans and other people that fight against injustice, I ask the Nicaraguan government to set them free immediately, alongside many other political prisoners.

Dora María Téllez

Commander Dora María Téllez is a living hero of the Sandinista Revolution of 1979. I met her several times in Nicaragua to get updates about the political situation in her country.

Suyén Barahona

Suyén was the President of the former Sandinista Renovation Party. I know her because once she acted as the interpreter for one of the many delegations I took to Nicaragua for WCCN.

Juan Sebastián Chamorro

Juan Sebastián was one of the presidential candidates in Nicaragua at the moment of his detention. He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, but I met him only once in Nicaragua in UNIDES, a think-tank where he was the Executive Director.
